For the 11th year, Express Athletics is excited to welcome young athletes to experience a variety of sports for a weeklong, FUN camp lead by our Express Varsity Coaches and teams. The camps will have specific sport instruction, by the head varsity coach and players. Participants will have what is most important, FUN.

Phone System Maintenance Notice

The Elmira City School District would like to inform our community of a brief, scheduled maintenance to our regional phone system.

Date: Monday, April 20
Time: Beginning at 4:00 PM
Duration: Approximately 10 minutes

During this time, phone services across the district will be temporarily unavailable.

This maintenance is being completed outside of school hours to minimize any disruption to students, staff, and families. Because this work is coordinated with an external vendor, it must take place during this scheduled time.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we complete this important update.

Please note the additional days off around Memorial Day weekend due to unused emergency/snow days!

To end out our reading focused month of March, we held a book giveaway yesterday. Each student was able to select and take home a brand-new book. The Rotary Club of Elmira was on hand to assist students with the selection of their books!

We have had a special guest at Diven this week to go along with our One School One Book selection "Big Foot and Little Foot". Students got to vote on a name and guess the height of our Big Foot!

Congratulations and thank you to families and students who participated in our recent Read-a-Thon! Students have earned prizes, books from our book vending machine and even a special lunch with the principal!

Our 1st and 2nd grade classes were thinking like "Philanthropists" this morning, as they had Caitlin Strickler, from the Community Foundation presenting. Classes worked together to choose community organizations to be the recipients of $100 grants. This was a great way to put our March Fintastic Word of the Month "Helpful" into action for our local community!

Our Read-a-Thon is off to a fantastic start!

Excited to share that one day in, students have already logged in over 400 minutes! Help us reach our school-wide goal of 10,000 minutes logged!

Additionally, $1,772 has already been raised for the DSO - that is amazing!

Attention PreK Families! We hope your child is having a wonderful year in our Pre-K program!

As we begin planning for the next school year, we want to ensure that your child’s transition to Kindergarten is smooth and that we reserve their spot on the roster as early as possible.

If you intend to enroll your child in Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year, you can now complete a Kindergarten Letter of Intent Form found on the District website. Completing this form now allows you to secure your child’s space on the Kindergarten roster without needing to complete the full Kindergarten enrollment packet at this time.
